BREAKING: Steelers’ New Wide Receiver Agreement Revealed

The contract details were revealed for the Steelers’ newest receiver.

Pittsburgh – The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to bolster their wide receiver lineup. Although the team is said to be in ongoing discussions and searches for trades, no concrete developments have emerged yet. As they continue their pursuit, the team secured additional depth by signing receiver Jacob Copeland to a one-year deal.

When the contract was signed, no financial information was made public. However, a couple of days later, NFL insider Aaron Wilson revealed the specifics of the agreement.

The Steelers have recruited Copeland to compete in training camp, without any guarantees of making the 53-man roster this season. Nonetheless, the team is in need of someone to rise to the occasion, and Copeland has just as good a chance as anyone.

Copeland, aged 24, stands at 5’11 and weighs 200 pounds, and is aiming to make a breakthrough in the NFL as a wide receiver. Having spent time on the Steelers’ practice squad during the 2023 season, he is familiar with the organization, giving him an advantage in training camp as he gets another opportunity with the team in 2024. He hopes that this time everything will fall into place for him.

Prior to joining the Steelers, Copeland moved around the NFL. He initially joined the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2023, but was waived shortly after the team’s training camp. Subsequently, he had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and two separate spells on the Steelers’ practice squads.

The Steelers released Copeland towards the end of the 2023 regular season, and he then signed a futures/reserve contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite being on the rosters of three different organizations, he has yet to play in a regular season NFL game.

Copeland played college football at the University of Florida and the University of Maryland. He accumulated 1,866 yards over four seasons at Florida and, in his final season at Maryland, caught 26 passes for 376 yards and two touchdowns.
