Breaking: The Indianapolis Colts Announced a Significant Signing To Bolster Team’s Practice Squad

On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts announced that they have re-signed defensive end Derek Rivers to fill an open spot on the team’s practice squad.

Derek Rivers, who was originally chosen by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, is a pass rusher standing 6’5″ and weighing 250 pounds. Throughout his 8-year professional career, he has also played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Houston Texans.

In his 24 career games, including one start, he has recorded 3.5 sacks, 16 tackles (11 solo), 5 tackles for loss, and 7 quarterback hits. Over the past two seasons, he has frequently moved on and off the Colts’ practice squad, but he has rejoined his Indianapolis teammates as of Tuesday.
