The 3-star prospect picked Cal over schools including San Diego State and Harvard

Cal football added its 13th commitment to the 2025 recruiting class with the announcement of Tre’ Harrison’s decision to join them. Harrison, a three-star prospect from Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, shared his college choice on social media, revealing that he plans to join the team as a safety when he starts at Berkeley in the fall of 2025.

Weighing in at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, Harrison is categorized as an athlete on recruiting sites, but he is anticipated to play in the defensive backfield for the Bears. His decision to choose Cal was influenced by the opportunities beyond football, the university’s location in the Bay Area with ties to Silicon Valley, and the tight-knit culture. Harrison’s considerations for his college choice extend beyond athletics, showing an interest in the broader opportunities available at Cal.

Prior to committing to Cal, Harrison visited the campus and also took official visits to other universities such as San Diego State, Harvard, and Columbia. Despite receiving scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Washington State, and Boston College, among others, Harrison ultimately decided to join the Bears.

Harrison’s athletic abilities extend beyond football, as he also participates in basketball and track and field, specializing in sprints and hurdles. In the rankings, Rivals places him as the 95th prospect in California, while 247Sports lists him as 52nd in the state and 42nd among safeties nationwide.
