Celebrating Victory: WKU Women’s Golf Junior Wins 122nd Women’s North and South Amateur Championship

Georgia native Emily Craig had an outstanding week at Pinehurst No. 2, the venue of the recent U.S. Open. She consistently performed well, finishing tied for third in both stroke play rounds with a score of 143 over two days. Craig secured five birdies across these rounds.

Moving into match play as the third seed, Craig triumphed over competitors from Florida State and the University of North Carolina, progressing to the semifinals. In a decisive semifinal match, she defeated Lynn Lim from Vanderbilt with a score of 2&1, advancing to the championship round against top-seeded Macy Pate.

Craig dominated the championship match, establishing a commanding 3-up lead and securing victory with a putt on the 15th hole to win 4&3. Her achievement capped off an impressive summer performance, complementing her recent recognition as the CUSA Scholar Athlete of the Year.
