check In: As Iowa State Announces 2024 Football Captains

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell has revealed the team captains for the 2024 football season.

Seniors Beau Freyler and Jaylin Noel have been named captains for the second consecutive year, and senior J.R. Singleton will join them as Iowa State’s third permanent captain this season. Additionally, a fourth captain will be selected each week for the games.

Beau Freyler – Sr. – Colorado Springs, Colo.
Freyler has been a consistent presence in the Cyclones’ lineup since arriving in 2021, with 25 career starts to his name. He earned First-Team Academic All-American honors from CSC in 2023.

Jaylin Noel – Sr. – Kansas City, Mo.
Noel returns as captain for a second year, having been recognized as an All-Big 12 performer last season. He poses a dual threat, contributing significantly to both the offense and special teams.

J.R. Singleton – RSr. – Gurnee, Ill.
Singleton is stepping into the captaincy for the first time in his career. As a redshirt junior, he made eight starts and had his most productive season to date, recording 22 tackles and a career-high 3.5 sacks, all in Big 12 play.

The Cyclones will kick off their season on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against FCS No. 22-ranked North Dakota at Jack Trice Stadium, marking the stadium’s 50th season of play.
