Chris Klieman Spills Delicate Injury Update On Kansas State Wildcats Tight end Sensational Elite

The Kansas State football team will be without one of its top tight ends for at least a few upcoming games. Brayden Loftin, a sophomore tight end from Omaha, is projected to miss “a few weeks” following the No. 25 Wildcats’ disappointing 38-9 loss at BYU. “Loftin will be sidelined for a few weeks due to a lower body injury,” K-State coach Chris Klieman announced during his weekly press conference on Monday.

“Fortunately, it’s not season-ending, but he won’t be playing for a while.” This update isn’t unexpected. Loftin caught one pass for seven yards on the Wildcats’ opening drive against BYU before he limped off the field with a leg injury. He spent several minutes in the injury tent and then watched the remainder of the first half from the sidelines. By the game’s end, he was out of uniform and seen walking with a brace.

His absence could be felt, as Loftin has recorded seven catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns this season. Sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson often targets his tight ends in the red zone, and he has relied on Loftin in crucial moments. With Loftin out, K-State will depend more on Will Swanson, Garrett Oakley, and Will Anciaux at tight end.
