Cincinnati Bearcats Football Lands Three-Star 2027 Commit Jalen Webb

Cincinnati has added its third commit for the 2027 class. During spring football in Clifton, the Bearcats secured a commitment from three-star interior offensive lineman Jalen Webb from Central Catholic, who has chosen Cincinnati as his future college home.

Per 247Sports, Webb is ranked 1,092nd nationally and 68th among interior linemen. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman had offers from Pittsburgh, Kentucky, and South Florida but opted for Cincinnati to play under one of the top offensive line coaches in the game, Nic Cardwell. Webb joins Ryan Massie-Cable and Javarris Warner as the third three-star commit (and overall commit) for the 2027 class.

Cardwell recently earned a co-offensive coordinator title, sharing duties with quarterbacks coach Pete Thomas. UC head coach Scott Satterfield praised their collaboration:

“As two former quarterbacks, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Pete day in and day out for a long time now. His player development skills and field vision have not gone unnoticed. I’m excited to watch him and Coach Cardwell build off each other.”

Cardwell’s promotion comes after leading a Joe Moore Award finalist offensive line last season and developing multiple NFL-level linemen in recent years. Satterfield emphasized the importance of the offensive line to the program:

“From Nic’s work the first two years to last year’s group being among the nation’s best by multiple metrics, he is very deserving of this expanded role.”

The Bearcats are making progress in spring practices as they prepare for next month’s spring game. On the quarterback competition, Satterfield noted on the From The 513 Podcast:

“There’s going to be some good battles. JC French, coming in from Georgia Southern, is very experienced and a strong deep-ball thrower, with a different skill set than Brendan (Sorsby) had. Samaj (Jones) is entering his second year in the system and ready to take the next step. Both have opportunities to contribute next fall. Liam O’Brien brings experience and leadership to the room, making it a competitive and smart quarterback group.”
