Clemson Football Faces Setback as 4-Star Defensive Back Backs Out!

Clemson witnessed cornerback Graceson Littleton withdraw from the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class.

The Clemson football program received unfortunate updates while recruiting. Graceson Littleton, a highly rated defensive back from Tampa, Florida, revealed that he is withdrawing from the Tigers 2025 recruiting class and reconsidering his options.

The top-ranked prospect had pledged to the Tigers in June and remained dedicated. His exit caused Clemson’s recruiting class ranking to fall from 17th to 22nd nationally, as reported by 247Sports.com.

The Tigers currently have a small class as they gear up for the early signing window next month. At this time, only 13 players have officially pledged to be a part of head coach Dabo Swinney’s team.

Usually, Swinney effectively retains committed recruits to play under his coaching. Yet, during the ongoing recruiting period, a few promising players have reneged on their commitments to the Tigers. Littleton is part of a group that also features Jaylan Beckley, a three-star offensive lineman, Blake Hebert, a four-star quarterback, Isaiah Campbell, a four-star defensive lineman, and Bryce Davis, a four-star edge rusher.

Additionally, Clemson now has just one defensive back recruit remaining in the current recruiting class following Littleton’s choice. This is Tae Harris, a highly rated 4-star recruit from Georgia known for his safety skills.

Littleton represents a significant blow for the Tigers. According to the 247Sports.com composite rankings, he is ranked as the 75th best player overall and the 9th best corner in the country. Tom Loy from 247Sports.com announces that Michigan is a school to keep an eye on in Littleton’s recruitment. Littleton is set to visit Ann Arbor this weekend to witness the Wolverines face off against No. 1 Oregon.

The positive development for Clemson is that there are numerous youthful and up-and-coming cornerbacks currently on the team’s list. Out of the ten players who are designated as cornerbacks on the roster, eight are in their first or second year of college. This implies that Littleton’s choice will not severely hurt the Tigers.

Nevertheless, Swinney and his team are greatly affected by this loss, particularly considering the limited size of the current recruitment group. It will be intriguing to see if the coaching staff can bring in another recruit to replace Littleton.
