Colin Cowherd Shares Candid Views on Kamala Harris After Tuesday’s Debate

Colin Cowherd Doesn’t Hold Back Thoughts On Kamala Harris After Tuesday’s Debate

On Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris faced off against former President Donald Trump in their first debate. While June’s debate was seen as a strong showing for Trump and a potential turning point for President Joe Biden to exit the 2024 race, Colin Cowherd felt that Tuesday’s debate was more favorable for the Democrats.

Initially, Cowherd joked about skipping the debate, preferring to rely on “agenda-free, neutral, and reasonable accounts” on X for coverage. However, it seems he changed his mind and watched the debate on ABC.

On social media, Cowherd challenged the conservative media narrative that Harris would falter under pressure. He noted, “Conservative media claimed Kamala Harris was going to be weak and overwhelmed tonight. That’s not what I saw.”

Cowherd wasn’t alone in reassessing the debate’s outcome. Stephen A. Smith declared Harris as the clear winner and claimed Trump appeared unsettled. Smith suggested Trump is in “trouble” and should seek another debate with Harris.

Even some conservative commentators conceded that Harris likely had a stronger performance. Fox News panelists observed that Trump repeatedly got sidetracked by personal grievances, such as rally crowd sizes, instead of addressing substantive issues.

The debate also sparked memes among sports fans, particularly Trump’s remark about having a “concept of a plan” for U.S. healthcare.

A CNN flash poll indicated that 63 percent of viewers thought Harris outperformed Trump, although prior to the debate, predictions on who would perform better were evenly split.
