Committed: Blessed to receive an offer as 2025 four-star wide receiver commits to TCU

TCU football made a splash in recruiting this weekend without playing a game, securing a commitment from four-star wide receiver Terry Shelton. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect from Irving, Texas, had previously been committed to Arizona but reversed his decision, announcing his pledge to TCU on social media Sunday afternoon. Shelton, who plays for Ranchview High School, had visited several schools over the summer, including TCU, Arizona, Boston College, Illinois, and Kansas.

With Shelton’s commitment, TCU’s 2025 class gets a major talent infusion, with the wide receiver now ranking as the top recruit in the Horned Frogs’ class, which currently sits 20th nationally.

In his junior season, Shelton recorded 32 receptions for 629 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he had 16 catches for 141 yards and 4 touchdowns. A standout athlete in multiple sports, Shelton has over 1,000 career points and 800 career rebounds in basketball and boasts a 23.00-second 200-meter dash time in track. He becomes the sixth four-star recruit in TCU’s 2025 class, joining EDGE rushers Jared Martin and Chad Woodfork, quarterback Adam Schobel, cornerback Micah Strickland, and wide receiver Ed Small.
