GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – East Carolina football is set to begin its 2024 season this Saturday at 6 p.m. at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
The Pirates will take on the Norfolk State Spartans, with junior Jake Garcia, a transfer from Missouri, named the starting quarterback.
According to ECU athletics, parking lots will open at noon, and the ticket office will be accessible starting at 3 p.m. Stadium gates will open at 4 p.m.
This season, only one clear plastic bag, measuring no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches, or a one-gallon resealable plastic storage bag will be permitted per person. Fans may also bring a small clutch purse no bigger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Diaper bags and other non-medical items are allowed if accompanied by an infant or young child.
A designated pickup and drop-off point for Uber and Lyft will be available on 14th Street between Elm and Berkley. Ride sharing and personal vehicles, including golf carts and low-speed vehicles, will not be allowed beyond campus roadblocks.
The Pirate Walk is planned for 3:45 p.m. on the Howard & Lyn Swain Pirate Promenade in front of TowneBank Tower.
This year, all concession stands at the stadium will be cashless to expedite service. Beer and wine will be sold at 24 locations, with a two-drink limit per person for each transaction.
Charley’s Kid Zone will be located in the grassy area behind Sections 10-11 near Gate 4, featuring inflatables, games, and activities for children, with parental supervision required.
Season tickets for all six home games start at just 115,whilesingle−gameticketsrangefrom 40 to $ 65 for the matchup against the Roadrunners. Tickets can be purchased by calling the ECU Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500.
