WASHINGTON D.C. – Lexie Almodovar, a redshirt senior volleyball player from the University of Dayton, has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Almodovar had an outstanding performance at the FGCU Invitational, averaging 5.27 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .333, and contributing 2.73 digs per set. The Noblesville, Ind. native achieved a season-high of 28 kills, hitting .423 in a victory over South Florida, and recorded 15 kills in each of the Flyers’ other two matches.
Throughout the weekend, Almodovar also registered seven blocks and five aces, resulting in an average of 6.09 points per set.
She became the seventh player in Dayton volleyball history to surpass both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 digs, reaching this milestone with her 13 digs against the Bulls in the first match of the tournament.
