2025 wide receiver Braylon Collier is committed to the Michigan State Spartans. In this exclusive, Collier details why he isn’t letting that change his approach.

Braylon Collier, a 2025 wide receiver commit to Michigan State, isn’t resting on his laurels now that he’s secured a spot with the school. I spoke with him on Saturday before Michigan State’s game against Boston College.

Collier, a three-star prospect, brings potential that goes beyond any star rating or ranking among his high school peers. The Perkins High School standout, who made his commitment in June, is focused on staying humble.

“That’s my main goal. I want to play like I’m still uncommitted, as if I haven’t received any college attention,” Collier shared. “I always aim to carry that chip on my shoulder and prove myself every time I step onto the field, whether in practice or games. I want to show everyone that I deserve to be here. Since I’m not at Michigan State yet, my focus is on representing my town well.”

Collier has also made time for the Spartans. He attended their game against Prairie View A&M, where he felt all his questions were answered. He was already familiar with the coaching staff, players, faculty, campus, and the program’s vision; all that was left was to experience a game day atmosphere.

“Spartan Nation did not disappoint,” Collier said. “The stadium was electric, and I think it was sold out. The energy and atmosphere were incredible. It gave me goosebumps for sure.”

Wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins, known for his talent in recruiting and developing wide receivers, took time to connect with Collier before and after the Spartans’ 40-0 win.

Their conversations revolve around basketball rather than football—discussing skills, matchups, and who would come out on top. Hawkins also emphasizes the importance of staying present.

“He checks in on me and reminds me to stay focused on my current season and to put in the effort each week,” Collier said. “I don’t want to lose sight of where I am right now.”
