Dickert lands third verbal in 3 days: WR Embree hails from same school as Cracraft

WASHINGTON STATE continues to excel in recruiting by landing the highly-ranked verbal commitment of wide receiver Sean Embree, ranked No. 6 in the 2025 football recruiting class. Embree revealed his decision to join the Cougars on social media shortly after visiting Pullman. The visit left a strong impression on him, with one key factor ultimately persuading him to choose Pullman.

Embree credited the coaching staff as the decisive factor in his commitment, praising them for being not only excellent coaches but also great individuals who he believes will support his growth and development.

His interactions with the players further reinforced his belief in the positive culture within the program. Standing at 6-4 and weighing 165 pounds, Embree hails from Santa Margarita Catholic in Rancho Santa Margarita, a school known for producing WSU alumni such as Klay Thompson, River Cracraft, and Kyle Sweet.

Washington State is in need of a new sports program announcer as Matt Chazanow, who has been serving as the director of broadcast operations for Learfield covering football, men’s basketball, and baseball, is departing for a sports announcing position at NC State, as announced by the Wolfpack program on Thursday.

Chazanow, who began his tenure with the Cougars in 2015, was not only responsible for calling games but also for hosting weekly coaches shows and conducting podcasts featuring WSU coaches.

Expressing his excitement for the new role, Chazanow stated in an announcement from NC State, “I am so thrilled for this incredible opportunity. The passion and power of the Pack is renowned in college athletics, and to be entrusted to continue the storytelling tradition of NC State following Gary Hahn is truly a humbling experience. I can’t wait to dive in and start.”

Having graduated from Syracuse University in 2006, Chazanow brings with him a wealth of experience, including seven years as Learfield’s senior network manager, where he operated out of Winston-Salem, N.C., approximately 100 miles away from Raleigh. Notably, Chazanow is married to Ashley Randleman, who hails from Jonesville, North Carolina
