“Get Your Caffeine Fix: Insights As Golden Donut’s Coffee Sip Sparks Excitement for Saturday’s Fountain City Classic Rivalry!”

Every Friday morning before the Fountain City Classic game, fans of the Fort Valley Wildcats and Albany State Rams gather at Golden Donut for their annual tradition: the Coffee Sip.

“The Coffee Sip is primarily a social event,” explained Saundra Ellison, Co-Chairman of the Fountain City Classic. “We believe it’s important to give back to the community in a small way. I just want everyone to come out, have fun, and cheer for the Wildcats!”

As supporters dropped by, they enjoyed free coffee and donuts while engaging in friendly conversations—though tensions might rise as Saturday’s intense HBCU rivalry approaches.

“Alumni and friends come out to connect and share memories from their college days,” said Georgia State Representative, Teddy Reese. “The coffee isn’t the only thing heating up; when a Fort Valley graduate sits next to an Albany State graduate, things can definitely get a little spicy!”

The Fountain City Classic’s Coffee Sip has become a cherished tradition for fans heading to Columbus, serving as a chance to fuel up for the weekend ahead.

“This event is all about family, and it’s been going strong for 34 years,” said FCC Committee Member, Georgie Humphery. “Our goal was to create an experience where everyone can participate, have some fun, and give back to the community. I’m rooting for the unbeatable Albany State Rams!”
