HARRIERS NEWS: Boss Gets “Brutally Honest” With Players Must Embrace Challenge And Show Commitment, All You Need To Know

Boss: Players must embrace challenge

Boss offers thoughts on a new challenge ahead next term…

HARRIERS must ready themselves for the challenge of being there to be shot at in the 2024-25 National League North, says Phil Brown.

The Reds faced and defeated two significant teams from the National League while playing away last season in Oldham and Chesterfield.

Overall, despite ending the season in disappointment, Brown is now aware that his team must be prepared to face challenging situations in the upcoming season.

There are notable clubs in the North, with Brown highlighting Scunthorpe United as an example. However, teams visiting Aggborough will likely see Kidderminster Harriers as a strong competitor, approaching matches with determination.

Looking back, Brown explained, “I checked some North fixtures towards the end of the last season as part of my preparations, just to be ready and informed about future matchups.”

When observing teams like Scunthorpe, which Brown faced as a player 25 to 30 years ago, it’s noticeable that they have traditionally been a part of the EFL but now find themselves in a challenging position, making them a sought-after target.

Brown emphasized the importance of having a resilient team with the right mindset to handle such challenges effectively.

Expanding on this point, Brown stressed the need for players to embrace the opportunities presented by playing at Aggborough, an aspect that has posed challenges in previous seasons.

He highlighted, “As Kidderminster Harriers in the National League or the National League North, we are considered one of the prominent teams, attracting players who want to compete for us but also drawing in opponents who aim to defeat us.”

Brown hopes to assemble a group of players who are enthusiastic about representing Kidderminster Harriers and are prepared to face the challenges that come with the club’s reputation.
