‘Have Faith!’ Texas A&M Sensational Elite Gets Massive Hope on Triumphant Return

exas A&M Aggies sensation suffered an injury in his throwing shoulder during the season opener against Notre Dame and was forced to miss three contests after until his return last week against Missouri.

It’s been an encouraging start to the season for Mike Elko and the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies. They are currently on a five-game winning streak, undefeated in SEC play, and should be well-rested as they head to Starkville after their bye week.

However, things didn’t look so positive at the beginning.

In their season opener against Notre Dame, the situation quickly worsened when redshirt sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder. He played the first half of the next game against McNeese State but was replaced by Marcel Reed for the remainder of that game and the next three.

Fortunately for the Aggies, Reed stepped up admirably in his absence. When Weigman returned to start against Missouri, he was in top form, completing 18 of 22 passes for 276 yards and leading the Aggies to an impressive win over the Tigers.

Though sitting on the sidelines was challenging for him, Weigman reassured everyone that he’s now back at 100 percent.

“Not being able to play football was tough. I enjoy being out there with my teammates and supporting them,” Weigman said in his press conference on Monday. “I’m fully recovered; I focused on getting my shoulder right. With the help of the Aggie training staff, we put in a lot of hard work over the past three weeks. It feels great to finally be back and feeling good.”

He also expressed his faith and the importance of offensive coordinator Collin Klein in regaining his rhythm.

“All you can do is have faith; losing it makes things difficult. I just have to trust God and His plan for me and this team,” Weigman shared. “I feel like when I’m pressured, I come out swinging. That’s how I was raised. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to execute the game plan Coach Klein laid out and the confidence he has in me to throw the ball around. We had a solid game.”

The 12th Man can expect Klein to continue trusting Weigman as the Aggies prepare to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs for their second road SEC matchup.
