INJURY UPDATE: Dan Lanning Raises Alarm With Concerning Update On Tez Johnson’s Injury!1
Oregon football has been dealing with a large number of injuries this season, and the trend continued in Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon when they lost a key player in the first quarter.
Following a hard blow on the third play of the game, Tez Johnson exited the game and did not come back, seen on the sideline in regular clothes with a sling on his shoulder. The injury appeared serious as he was tackled and slammed on his right shoulder, leading the announcers to suspect a possible collarbone injury.
Nevertheless, supporters remained optimistic that he was simply being benched as a precaution for the upcoming games.
However, when questioned about the Johnson injury following the game, Dan Lanning did not provide a very optimistic response. In fact, his words were quite troubling.
“Still trying to understand it.” Right now, I don’t have any specifics. Johnson was not able to return to the game. This man embodies the essence of winning in every aspect of its definition. Tez represents that for us.
– The individual is named Dan Lanning.
The initial portion of the statement is not very worrisome, but if it was not significant, he probably would have mentioned it, leading me to believe it might be a lasting problem. Additionally, he ensured to praise Johnson for his success and supported him, which is not common for coaches unless they fear losing the player for a period of time.
Currently, this is all just conjecture, but the statement from Lanning and the later quote from Dillon Gabriel expressing sympathy for Johnson don’t appear very optimistic.
Hopefully it’s only a minor injury and he’ll return next week.
