Keon Coleman gives his optimistic take on Amari Cooper joining the Bills.
With Amari Cooper joining the Buffalo Bills’ receiving corps, the competition for targets may become complicated among the current pass catchers. However, rookie wideout Keon Coleman views it differently.
Coleman believes that Cooper’s presence will actually simplify his own game. The 21-year-old likened the situation to finances, suggesting that Cooper will “help everything out.”
“Adding Amari Cooper is like bringing another person who contributes financially into your household,” Coleman explained to Spectrum News. “He’ll help cover expenses, benefit everyone, and create more opportunities for others by adding a greater threat to the offense.”
Coleman was selected as the first pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and was quickly seen as a day-one starter, especially after the team traded star receiver Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason. The Florida State standout has lived up to expectations, starting in all six games of his early career.
As of Cooper’s trade to Buffalo, Coleman ranks third on the team with 201 receiving yards through Week 6, trailing only Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid. Meanwhile, Cooper has recorded 250 receiving yards with the Cleveland Browns, which would rank first on the Bills—though Shakir, the current leader, has missed one game due to an ankle injury.
