Irish Thunder: Notre Dame Obliterates Purdue 66-7! Just Like a Drum in 66-7 Rout

A week after struggling to gain first downs, Notre Dame traveled to West Lafayette, Indiana, and delivered a stunning performance against Purdue. The Irish led 42-0 at halftime, cruising to a 66-7 victory. Although Riley Leonard didn’t throw a touchdown, he rushed for three scores and accumulated 100 yards on the ground. Jeremiyah Love also exceeded 100 rushing yards, while Jadarian Price and third-string quarterback Kenny Minchey added rushing touchdowns.

Backup QB Steve Angeli threw the Irish’s first two passing touchdowns of the season, completing six passes for 100 yards. Defensively, Al Golden’s unit dominated throughout the game, pressuring Purdue QB Hudson Card into two interceptions, including a pick-six by defensive end Boubacar Traore. The Irish defense recorded four sacks on Card during the matchup.
