Former player Jordan Schmaltz has shared an interesting update about Hall of Fame GM Ken Holland, suggesting he might take on a role with the Utah Hockey Club. In a tweet, Schmaltz wrote, “Hope everyone is doing well. #ThePeoples here.. BREAKING: I’ve heard some news from Salt Lake City… it appears that longtime manager Kenny Holland will be joining Utah HC in some capacity. More details to come.”

After this announcement, Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff offered more insight, mentioning that Holland has been invited to attend a few days of the Utah Hockey Club’s training camp. Given his strong connections within the organization, Holland’s involvement could greatly influence the team’s future, though there are currently no specific plans for how his relationship with Utah HC will evolve. Seravalli did not confirm that Holland was officially taking on a job.

If Holland takes a front-office role under GM Bill Armstrong, it could represent a significant change for the franchise as it gears up for its first season after moving from Arizona. Holland’s extensive experience in hockey management could be a tremendous asset.
Nonetheless, there have been discussions suggesting he might be held accountable behind the scenes for the Oilers’ inability to secure a Stanley Cup, particularly in failing to sign Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway, which allowed the St. Louis Blues to extend two offer sheets.
As for Brad Holland potentially following his father to Utah, it will be interesting to see if Ken Holland’s news opens the door for Brad to join the Utah Hockey Club as well.
