Duke Emerges as Contender for Transfer Star Flory Bidunga
With the NCAA transfer portal now open, Duke has been linked to several top available players—and one of the biggest names on its radar is Kansas transfer big man Flory Bidunga.
The Blue Devils have already seen roster movement, with Darren Harris and Nik Khamenia entering the portal. More uncertainty remains, as several key contributors are weighing decisions about returning, entering the NBA Draft, or transferring. While Maliq Brown and likely Cameron Boozer appear headed out, players like Isaiah Evans, Dame Sarr, Patrick Ngongba, Caleb Foster, and Cayden Boozer have yet to decide their futures.
Bidunga a Top Target
Bidunga, ranked as the No. 1 player in the transfer portal by 247Sports, is one of the most sought-after prospects available. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and a Big 12-leading 2.6 blocks per game at Kansas, showcasing elite defensive ability and strong interior presence.
Reports indicate he is currently considering Duke, Michigan, St. John’s, and Louisville. Duke was also one of his top choices during his high school recruitment before he ultimately committed to Kansas. Given his rim protection and footwork, he would be an ideal addition to the Blue Devils’ frontcourt—especially if Ngongba departs for the NBA.
NBA Option Still in Play
In addition to entering the portal, Bidunga has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft and is projected as a late first- or early second-round pick. However, his reported NIL valuation—potentially around $5 million—could make returning to college more financially appealing than turning pro right away.
Outlook
Duke’s offseason remains fluid, but the program is firmly in the mix for one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal. Landing Bidunga would be a major addition as the Blue Devils reshape their roster for next season.
