Before the NHL Draft in Las Vegas on Friday night, Columbus engaged in a trade, sending Alexandre Texier to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a future fourth-round draft pick. Texier, who was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the second round in 2017, had played 201 games for Columbus over five seasons, entering the NHL in April 2019. In the most recent season, Texier recorded 12 goals and 18 assists in 78 games.
Columbus holds a total of six selections in this year’s NHL draft, commencing with the fourth overall pick. The draft commences with the first round at 7 p.m. at the Sphere, followed by rounds 2-7, which will take place on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.
