Rising high school junior Jalen Montonati says he’s hearing from the Duke basketball staff.

Jalen Montonati is among a select group of prospects who appeared on Duke basketball’s call list shortly after the commencement of the 2026 recruiting cycle on June 15. The talented wing player from Owasso High School (Okla.) revealed to On3’s Jamie Shaw that the Blue Devils are one of several teams maintaining contact with him.

“I’m receiving interest from schools such as Baylor, Kentucky, UConn, Creighton, Duke, and Villanova,” he mentioned. “We will have to wait and see how things progress with them.”

In early June, Duke basketball’s head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff, who have yet to offer any spots for the 2026 class, witnessed the outstanding performance of the 6-foot-7, 175-pound five-star recruit at the NBPA Top 100 Camp.

Following his evaluation of Montonati at the USA Basketball minicamp in early April, 247Sports’ Eric Bossi summarized the key on-court strengths of the 17-year-old.

Currently, Jalen Montonati, the current Oklahoma Gatorade High School Player of the Year, earned this accolade during his sophomore year, and at present, he has received approximately 20 offers. Notably, one prestigious program that has extended an offer is Kansas. He has made informal visits to Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
