JUST IN: Electrifying 4-Star Safety Commits To UCLA: “Coach Foster Is Shaking Things Up”
Roughly 30 schools had extended offers to Jadyn Hudson, a safety from Pittsburg, California. Although he had initially planned official visits to UCLA and USC in May, his trip to UCLA in Westwood convinced him that he didn’t need to visit USC in Los Angeles.
“I realized during my official visit to UCLA on June 1 that UCLA was the place for me,” shared Hudson with On3. “Interacting with the coaches, bonding with the players, and immersing myself in the UCLA community confirmed my decision.”
Hudson ultimately chose to stay close to home and commit to the Bruins. Initially offered a spot under the previous coaching regime, he never had the opportunity to visit when Chip Kelly was in charge. Ranked 233rd in the On3 Industry Ranking, Hudson has visited twice under the leadership of DeShaun Foster, the new head coach, and has observed a fresh dynamic within the program.
“Coach Foster is implementing changes that are already proving impactful at UCLA. His player-centric approach, coupled with his military background, emphasizing discipline and mentorship, resonates with me,” expressed Hudson.
“I have immense respect for Coach Foster’s coaching style and his genuine nature. His influence played a significant role in my decision. I trust that under his guidance, both on and off the field, I will grow and succeed.”
Hudson’s commitment marks UCLA’s 11th addition to their roster.
Hudson has a great connection with UCLA’s Norwood
UCLA values Hudson’s adaptability as he is capable of playing either safety position for the Bruins, providing Defensive Backs Coach Brian Norwood with the advantage of working with this highly rated four-star recruit.
