Even though Arkansas is not ranked, they have proven to be a formidable team by defeating Tennessee two weeks ago. The Razorbacks possess a strong defense and an amazing running game on offense that is very challenging to beat. LSU’s success this weekend hinges on these five players delivering standout performances.
Trey’Dez Green is a Wide Receiver.
Previously, we have mentioned that tight end Trey’Dez Green deserves more opportunities in the passing game, and now that he has transitioned to wide receiver, he will surely get them. In Green, LSU poses a challenging match-up due to his speed exceeding that of players who are able to impede him, while also being larger than any defensive back who can match his pace. LSU has had difficulties in the red zone this season, but Garrett Nussmeier will have a strong target with his 6 foot 7 frame.
Caden Durham is a Running Back.
Caden Durham wasn’t as impactful in the game against Ole Miss, rushing for 37 yards with an average of 3.1 yards per carry and catching three passes for 11 yards. This could be attributed to his foot injury from South Alabama or the skill of Ole Miss’ defensive line. LSU will have to run the ball effectively this weekend to keep Arkansas’s strong defense honest when passing.
The defense contained Ollie Gordon II and Jarquez Hunter, but Dylan Sampson found success running the ball. The Tigers will require the same ability to make big plays that Durham has displayed in this game, or else the offense will struggle like it did against Ole Miss, leaving LSU vulnerable to trouble.

During the Ole Miss game, Burns had his most impressive performance of the season with eight tackles, including four solo tackles, a tackle resulting in a loss, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Major Burns is one player who can slow down Arkansas with their jet sweeps and read options that allow them to attack the edges. If LSU assigns Burns to surveil Taylen Green, he must minimize the impact of any scrambles to prevent LSU from suffering significant losses.
Whit Weeks is a linebacker.
After his impressive performance last weekend with 18 tackles for the Purple and Gold, Whit Weeks is expected to make a significant impact again this weekend. The Razorbacks will attempt to establish the running game, and a player such as Weeks, who has the ability to disrupt any play and result in a loss, will have a significant impact on the outcome of the game.
