Georgia Tech athletic director J Batt has been appointed chairman of the board for the College Football Hall of Fame, as announced by Hall president and CEO Kimberly Beaudin on Friday. “We are thrilled to welcome J Batt as our chairman. Since joining the Board of Trustees in 2023, he has shown steadfast support for our mission,” Beaudin stated in a press release. “We are confident that under J’s leadership, the Hall will continue to flourish as a national institution, inspiring fans and celebrating the game’s legends.” Batt, who has been on the board since August 2023, is the sixth person to serve as chairman since the Hall moved to Atlanta in 2014, succeeding longtime Regions Bank executive Bill Linginfelter.
“I am both humbled and honored to take on the role of chairman of the board for the College Football Hall of Fame,” Batt said in the release. “Having the Hall located here in Atlanta—the Capital of College Football—is a significant source of pride for our community. Its proximity to our campus, less than a mile away, highlights how closely Georgia Tech’s past, present, and future are linked to the essence of college football.”
