COLUMBIA, Mo. — Theo Wease Jr., a sixth-year wide receiver for the Missouri Tigers, was arrested on Tuesday for failing to show up in court, as reported by Boone County records and the Columbia Missourian.

He was taken into custody at 12:57 p.m. and later released after posting a $ 10 bond. According to Missouri Courts, Wease had been scheduled for a court appearance on March 22 following a ticket issued on February 9, 2024, for not wearing a seatbelt in Lexington, Missouri. A warrant for his arrest was issued on May 15.

Wease is entering his second season with Missouri after transferring from Oklahoma prior to the 2023 season. As one of Missouri’s five team captains, he was supposed to address the media on Tuesday afternoon but missed it due to what a team spokesperson described as a scheduling issue.

He has no previous arrests but was a witness in a 2021 robbery case involving his former Oklahoma teammates Mikey Henderson and Trejan Bridges, who both pleaded guilty.

Wease’s arrest follows closely after Missouri safety Philip Roche was arrested for failing to appear in court due to three speeding violations. Missouri chose not to suspend Roche.
