Just In: Longtime Texas Tech to step down as PA voice of Texas Tech Football

Longtime Texas Tech public address announcer Curtis Parrish will step down after 24 seasons

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics is set to introduce a new public address announcer at Jones AT&T Stadium this season, as Curtis Parrish, who has been the stadium’s voice for 24 years, will be stepping down.

“After nearly 25 years as the announcer at Jones AT&T Stadium, it’s time for me to step aside and dedicate more time to my growing family and my role as Lubbock County Judge,” Parrish expressed. “It has been a privilege to be involved with Texas Tech Football for the past quarter-century, and I look forward to supporting Coach McGuire and our Red Raiders in the years to come.”

Parrish, who also serves as the Lubbock County Judge, will be honored on the field this season for his extensive contributions, which include over 20 years at Jones AT&T Stadium, involvement at the John Walker Soccer Complex since its opening, and various roles at Texas Tech events.

“We want to extend our thanks to Curtis Parrish for his many years of dedication as our public address announcer,” said Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt. “He has been the voice behind many of our most memorable moments, and we’re eternally grateful for the atmosphere he helped create at Jones AT&T Stadium during his time.”

The kickoff for the game between Texas Tech and Abilene Christian is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night at Jones AT&T Stadium.
