Maryland football has its second commitment from its big crew of weekend official visitors. This time, the Terps added a big body in the trenches.
Maryland football secured its second commitment from the group of official visitors over the weekend. This time, the Terps landed a physically imposing player for the trenches.
Ben Beymer, a 6-8, 300-pound offensive lineman hailing from Florida, revealed his commitment on Sunday afternoon via X. He becomes the second recruit to pledge to Maryland following an official visit, following JT Taggart, the son of Baltimore Ravens running backs coach Willie Taggart, who committed the day before. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Beymer is ranked as the 95th best offensive tackle in the country and is considered a three-star prospect.

Beymer, who also plays basketball for Lakeland High School in Florida, served as the starting right tackle for a squad that made it to the state championship game last year. He was part of a sizable cohort of official visitors at College Park, marking the Terps’ second consecutive official visit weekend. During the spring, he made visits to Duke, Texas A&M, and a couple of other universities as well.
According to the Florida high school football site Big County Preps: “Measuring a towering 6 feet 8 inches and weighing around 285-295 pounds, Ben Beymer is a formidable presence on the offensive line. His remarkable arm reach and quick burst off the line allow Beymer to overpower rival defenders, opening up running lanes and offering essential shielding for his quarterback.”
Beymer becomes the ninth recruit and the second offensive lineman to commit to the 2025 recruiting class for Maryland football. He picked Maryland over offers from Syracuse, Duke, Georgia Tech, USF, and various other schools.
