Just In: Massive Boost As UAB Blazers Lands Another Major commitment to Bolster Depth

UAB gets its highest-ranked commit with quarterback Jamison Kitna, who feels that the Blazers can develop him to his highest aspirations.

UAB has secured a commitment from Jamison Kitna, a quarterback from Middletown (Ohio) Lakota East, marking a key addition to their 2025 recruiting class. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Kitna showcases impressive arm strength and comes from an NFL family.

After taking an official visit with the Blazers in early June, he developed a strong rapport with head coach Trent Dilfer and his staff, which helped him decide on UAB over 21 other offers.

“Trent and the staff he’s assembled provide the best development opportunities for reaching the pro level,” Kitna stated.

Kitna began his high school career in Burleson, Texas, before transferring to Lakota East for his junior year, where he completed 139 of 229 passes for 1,489 yards and nine touchdowns, along with rushing for 227 yards and six touchdowns.

A dislocated ankle cut his season short, but he successfully rehabbed in time to participate in spring camps and combines, where he earned recognition as a top performer by 247Sports.

As a three-star prospect, Kitna is now the highest-ranked player in the Blazers’ recruiting class.

His father, Jon Kitna, had a 16-year NFL career, served as the quarterbacks coach for the Dallas Cowboys for one year, and is currently the head coach at Lakota East.
