The Marshall Thundering Herd have finalized their 2025 non-conference football schedule, as announced by the school on Friday.
They will round out their schedule with a home game against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, set for Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, W.Va.
Marshall and Eastern Kentucky have faced off 21 times in the past, starting in 1926, with their most recent matchup occurring during the 2020 season. Marshall holds a lead in the series at 12 wins, 8 losses, and 1 tie.
Eastern Kentucky was initially slated to play at Appalachian State on the same date, but it remains unclear if that game has been rescheduled or canceled.
Marshall is set to kick off the 2025 season with an away game against the Georgia Bulldogs on Aug. 30, a matchup for which they will receive a $ 1.7 million guarantee.
Additionally, Marshall will host the Missouri State Bears on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025. The Bears will be transitioning to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and joining Conference USA next season.
The Thundering Herd will wrap up their non-conference schedule with an away game against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday, Sept. 20, marking the first of two games in a home-and-home series that will conclude in 2026 at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
