The Florida Gators top-rated recruit has had enough of the process.

Jalen Wiggins, a highly-rated defensive line recruit from Tallahassee, Florida, revealed on Monday that he has decided to conclude his recruitment process and reaffirm his commitment to the Florida Gators.

“I want to express my gratitude to the Lord for every opportunity and blessing throughout this recruitment journey, as well as to all those who have shown interest in me. I am closing my recruitment!” Wiggins declared through X.

Wiggins’s announcement holds immense significance for Florida. He is the top-rated defensive commit for the Gators on various recruiting platforms, with 247 Sports ranking him as their highest-rated overall commit.

He is positioned as the 77th best player nationwide and the 11th top defensive lineman by 247 Sports.

Furthermore, the Gators managed to retain a commitment from a player in rival territory. Wiggins, who attends James Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Florida, is located just under 15 minutes away from Florida State University’s campus.

Despite still having a scheduled visit to FSU after his official trip to Florida, Wiggins expressed his strong confidence in Florida and uncertainty regarding a potential switch to FSU.

Wiggins is the second UF commit to openly announce the end of his recruitment process. Four-star running back Waltez Clark, following his summer official visit with the Gators, disclosed that he had canceled all future official visits and cut off communication with other programs.

The current overall recruiting class for the Gators sits at 46th, according to On3. However, Florida has the opportunity to enhance this ranking with many prospects expected to announce their commitments during July.
