Just In: Two months after change, UH On the Verge of Hiring New Athletic Director

Nearly two months after initiating a change, the University of Houston is nearing the selection of its next athletic director.

Sources informed Monday that Eddie Nunez, the athletic director at New Mexico, and David Fletcher, general manager of Lone Star Sports & Entertainment, are among the finalists for the position. One source indicated that Nunez is the leading candidate.

Additionally, two other contenders are thought to remain in the running: Nevada athletic director Stephanie Rempe and Keli Zinn, the executive deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at LSU.

UH is looking to replace Chris Pezman, who was dismissed in June after six seasons at his alma mater.
