Just In: UCF might have one of college football’s best safeties in All-American transfer Prospect
UCF could possess one of the top safeties in college football with the addition of All-American transfer Sheldon Arnold II.
Should UCF ascend to the ranks of the Big 12’s top programs in 2024, a significant factor could be the performance of safety Sheldon Arnold.
In May 2024, Arnold declared his intention to transfer to UCF from East Tennessee State, instantly establishing himself as the highest-graded returning safety in the Big 12. According to PFF, Arnold achieved a remarkable 90.5 percent grade last season.
During the 2023 season, Arnold achieved All-American status at ETSU, recording 87 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 2 defensive touchdowns.
Reportedly, Arnold picked UCF over offers from Houston, Michigan State, UAB, and Arkansas State, and he has one year of eligibility left, as per UCFSports.com.
UCF’s season commences on Aug. 29 with a home game against New Hampshire, followed by their Big 12 opener on Sept. 14 at TCU. In the 2023 season, the Knights finished with a 6-7 record overall in their inaugural year in the Big 12, including a 3-6 mark in league play.
