Currently, Malachi Moreno from Great Crossing High School (Ky.) stands as the sole established center on UNC’s 2025 basketball offer list. However, it seems that Hubert Davis and his team are considering the option of pursuing another big man for this recruiting cycle.
According to a report from League Ready on Wednesday, the Tar Heels are showing significant interest in Eric Reibe, a 7-foot, 235-pound left-handed four-star rising senior from The Bullis School (Md.). Reibe’s ranking has surged by 75 spots since December, landing him at No. 41 overall (No. 1 in Maryland) on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.
Following an impressive performance at the NBPA Top 100 Camp earlier this month, where he averaged 19.7 points per game in front of numerous college coaches, Reibe has garnered attention from various top-tier programs, including UConn, Duke, Kentucky, Florida State, Washington, and Vanderbilt, bringing the total number of interested teams to over 30.

“I’m currently considering various options,” shared 17-year-old Eric Reibe with League Ready regarding his recruitment. “However, I might narrow down my choices in the upcoming weeks, possibly to about seven.”
Essentially, although UNC basketball and other interested parties can still join the recruitment process, it seems that time is running out as Reibe contemplates narrowing down his options.
