Jack Miller caused the Malaysian Grand Prix to be suspended by crashing at turn two during the first lap, triggering the red flag.
Miller collided with Brad Binder and Fabio Quartararo, making contact with Quartararo’s Yamaha as he crashed from his KTM.
Miller received on-site medical attention when the red flag was displayed, and was subsequently transported to the medical facility via ambulance.
Miller was found to have no major injuries upon his arrival at the medical center and was later seen walking back to the pits on the international television broadcast.
He was absent from the resumed Malaysian MotoGP.
KTM verified: “That was a major fright.” We are pleased to announce that both Binder and Miller are safe and back in their enclosure.
“Both will not take part in the Malaysian MotoGP race as their recovery is our top priority and focus.”
KTM also mentioned afterwards: “Today served as a clear indication of the dangers that our riders encounter whenever they start a race on the grid.
Both Brad and Jack were part of a significant accident on the first lap, but we are extremely thankful that they are both okay and able to walk away from the crash without serious injuries.
Moments such as these serve as a reminder of the power and toughness in this sport. Currently, the emphasis is on recuperation and getting ready for the last part of the season. We appreciate every message and the overwhelming support we have received.
Quartararo came out of the incident mostly unharmed, without needing medical treatment.
Quartararo managed to resume the race in Sepang.
MotoGP stewards looked into the incident and concluded that no additional measures were necessary.
