Florida State Seminoles football Continue Coaching Overhaul
Florida State’s staff makeover remains in full swing as the program heads deeper into the offseason. After missing a bowl game for the second consecutive year, head coach Mike Norvell once again reshaped the structure of his program.

The Seminoles have already made significant adjustments to both their on-field staff and administrative offices. Norvell has also reassumed play-calling duties following the unexpected retirement of offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. Still, a few vacancies remained, prompting two additional hires in late February.
Two Offensive Assistants Join the Staff
Florida State is adding two coaches on the offensive side: Manrey Saint-Amour as assistant offensive line coach and Teddy Richardson III as assistant running backs coach. Both arrive from Appalachian State Mountaineers football ties, though Saint-Amour most recently served as offensive line coach at Georgia State Panthers football in 2024.
Saint-Amour returns to Tallahassee after previously working as a graduate assistant under Norvell during his first year at FSU. After that stint, he joined Alabama Crimson Tide football and later gained experience at Charleston Southern Buccaneers football and Georgia Bulldogs football. He replaces Cooper Williams, who departed for Buffalo alongside Tony Tokarz.
The Seminoles’ offensive line room has experienced considerable turnover heading into 2026, with additional departures including D’Mitri Emmanuel and Ben Miles. Florida State also recently reunited with Gabe Fertitta, though his exact responsibilities are still being clarified.
Richardson III, meanwhile, is early in his coaching journey. His two seasons at Appalachian State mark his only FBS experience to date. While he previously worked with wide receivers for the Mountaineers, he will now transition to the running backs room in Tallahassee. A former player at FIU Panthers football, Richardson later coached at Booker T. Washington in South Florida before climbing the collegiate ranks.
He fills the vacancy left by Shaun Shivers, who briefly joined Florida State in January before departing for Notre Dame Fighting Irish football as an assistant wide receivers coach. Richardson will work alongside new running backs coach Kam Martin.
