It might be hard to believe, considering the football trajectories of the Philadelphia Eagles and Temple in the 21st century, but the record for the longest field goal in Lincoln Financial Field’s history now belongs to an Owl.
As of Saturday afternoon, this record stands true. With just five seconds left in the first half of Temple’s game against Utah State, Owls kicker Maddux Trujillo stepped up and effortlessly nailed a 64-yard field goal, narrowing the Aggies’ lead to 21–17.
The redshirt senior transfer from Austin Peay made history with this kick, marking the longest field goal in any game at Lincoln Financial Field since it opened on August 3, 2003, shattering the previous record of 61 yards held by Eagles kicker Jake Elliott. Additionally, Trujillo’s kick surpassed the previous school record set by Sean Fleming in 1990 against Wyoming by eight yards.

In fact, this kick ranks among the top 10 longest in major college football history, according to the NCAA record book.
Trujillo is only in his third game with Temple and had already completed four out of five field-goal attempts this season before Saturday’s game.
