Just two days after a decisive 5-1 victory over the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Thursday night, it seems that Doug Armstrong, the Blues’ GM, has made the trip to Boston to watch tonight’s game.

Typically, when a GM attends a game in person, it indicates heightened negotiations and the possibility of a trade. The Maple Leafs need to create some cap space to activate both Jani Hakanpaa and Connor Dewar in the coming week, suggesting that GM Brad Treliving is engaged in serious discussions with several rival GMs.
Earlier this season, much of the speculation focused on Calle Jarnkrok, David Kampf, and Timothy Liljegren. However, with Jarnkrok injured and Liljegren sitting as a healthy scratch, Kampf might be the target. The penalty-killing center, who earns $ 2.4 million annually, plays on the Leafs’ fourth line.
This week, it was reported that the Nashville Predators are seeking a bottom-6 center, which aligns with Kampf’s profile. This raises the possibility that Armstrong is looking to secure a valuable asset before a division rival makes a move to acquire him.
Of course, there could be other players that interest Armstrong and the Blues, and he might also be scouting the Bruins. Regardless, Armstrong attending a second consecutive Leafs game is certainly noteworthy.
