Mega Powerful 6-foot-9, 205-pound Five-star Forward Recruit Eyes Another UNC Basketball Visit

The No. 1 prospect in Georgia hasn’t forgotten about his UNC basketball suitors.

Caleb Wilson, a standout senior from Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Georgia, received an offer from UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis in May 2023. He visited Chapel Hill for an official trip with the Tar Heels in early February, which happened to coincide with the team’s victory over their archrival Duke at the Dean E. Smith Center.

The 6-foot-9, 205-pound five-star forward, currently ranked No. 5 overall and No. 1 among Georgia high school players on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, is considering a return visit to UNC before potentially announcing his commitment in the coming months. However, according to 247Sports’ Eric Bossi, Wilson has not yet scheduled a date for that visit.

Despite this, it appears that Davis and the Tar Heels are still strong contenders for the versatile athlete.

“I love UNC,” Wilson said to Bossi. “I admire their culture and their fanbase. I think it would be an opportunity that’s hard to pass up, especially with a great coach and a solid system.

“They need another big player to come in and assist them next year.”

In late July, Wilson listed his top 12 schools: UNC, Kentucky, Duke, UCF, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, and Southern Cal. He visited Kentucky last weekend and wrapped up a three-day trip to UCF on Sunday. Next weekend, he’ll head to Alabama for an official visit with the Crimson Tide, followed by a visit to Georgia Tech two weeks later when he returns to his home state.

According to Bossi, he’s also planning visits to Arkansas, Southern Cal, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, and BYU. However, like with UNC, he hasn’t provided specific dates for those trips.

“Depending on how my visits go,” Wilson said, “I could see myself committing in possibly December or January.”
