Missouri guard T.O. Barrett entering transfer portal
Missouri is taking a notable hit this offseason, as sophomore guard T.O. Barrett is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
Barrett broke out during the 2025–26 season, eventually earning a starting role for the final 14 games. After beginning the year as a rotation player, he steadily improved and overtook junior Anthony Robinson II in the lineup. As a starter, he averaged 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
One of his standout performances came against Tennessee, when he scored 28 points against one of the SEC’s top defenses, showcasing his ability to attack the rim with strength and athleticism. At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Barrett’s combination of size and physicality often created matchup problems.
His departure leaves Missouri thin at guard, as he becomes the third player at the position to enter the portal, joining Robinson and Sebastian Mack. While five-star freshman Jason Crowe Jr. is set to arrive, the Tigers now have a significant gap to fill in the backcourt.
The remaining guard group includes rising junior Annor Boateng and redshirt freshman Aaron Rowe. Boateng, a former four-star recruit, missed the end of the season with a leg injury but has shown promise in limited action.
Missouri will also lose starting guard Jayden Stone, who has run out of eligibility. With Barrett leaving, forward Trent Pierce is currently the only returning starter from last season, and he has already confirmed he’ll be back for 2026–27.
Barrett, originally a three-star recruit, quickly developed into one of the team’s most exciting players in just his second year. He is now the third member of Missouri’s 2024 freshman class to transfer, leaving Trent Burns and Boateng as the only remaining players from that group. Burns has announced he will return for his junior season.
The transfer portal officially opens Tuesday, marking the start of a busy offseason for the Tigers.
