Maryland’s football program secures commitment from highly-touted 4-star running back from the local area.

Maryland football gained a commitment from Iverson Howard, a local four-star running back from the class of 2025. Howard revealed his decision through Instagram on Tuesday. At a height of 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 195 pounds, Howard is ranked as the No. 392 player and the No. 30 running back in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is also considered the No. 10 player in Maryland.

Howard played a crucial role in leading Quince Orchard to Maryland state championships in 2021 and 2022. Despite receiving offers from prominent schools such as Michigan, Florida State, and Georgia, Howard opted to stay close to home. He will be joining Bud Coombs, a fellow class of 2025 commit from DeMatha Catholic High School, in the backfield.
