Navy head Coach Makes Bold Admission on Notre Dame Football

As the Navy Midshipmen coach prepares for a big game against the Notre Dame football team, he doesn’t see a weakness.

Notre Dame football faces a challenging matchup this week, potentially one of the toughest of the season—at least it should be.

The Irish will go up against the Navy Midshipmen, who are entering the weekend undefeated, ranked in the Top 25, and competing for a playoff spot as the representative from the Group of Five conferences. Despite this impressive standing, head coach Brian Newberry isn’t letting it lead to overconfidence.

In discussions about the upcoming game against Notre Dame, Newberry offered high praise for the Irish, stating that they don’t seem to have any weaknesses and resemble an NFL team at the college level.

Notre Dame football opponent has a ton of respect for Fighting Irish

“Notre Dame is a formidable team—almost like an NFL squad. They boast incredible talent, and I have immense respect for Marcus Freeman and his coaching staff. They’re not just talented; they’re also exceptionally well-coached.”

“They play with great effort and are fundamentally sound. Their strategies on both sides of the ball present challenges. We understand that we need to perform at our absolute best in all three phases of the game for all four quarters if we want a chance to win. We’re excited about the opportunity ahead; it’s going to be a significant challenge, and we’re looking forward to it.”

While Navy is approaching the game as the underdog, the reality is they’re the only undefeated team here. Notre Dame needs to stay sharp and prepare for a tough battle on Saturday morning.
