NC State Women’s Basketball Sees First Transfer Portal Departure
The NC State Wolfpack wasted little time entering offseason mode after its NCAA Tournament exit, and the first roster move has now arrived.
Center Mallory Collier announced Tuesday that she will enter the transfer portal following three seasons with the program.
Collier, who joined NC State after a standout high school career at Bartlett High School in Tennessee, primarily served as a reserve during her time under head coach Wes Moore. While she wasn’t a consistent part of the rotation, she provided depth and energy off the bench when called upon.
Her departure comes after a season in which the Wolfpack struggled with frontcourt depth but leaned heavily on key contributors rather than expanding the rotation. Collier appeared in 16 games during the 2025–26 campaign, averaging 2.6 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Though her on-court role was limited, Collier brought experience and leadership as a three-year member of the program, contributing to team chemistry throughout the season.
A move elsewhere could open the door for a larger role, and Collier made it clear in her farewell message that she leaves on good terms, expressing appreciation for her teammates, coaches, and the fan base.
With the transfer portal set to open in early April following the NCAA Tournament, Collier’s exit is likely just the beginning of roster changes as NC State reshapes its team for next season.
