Following their victory over Navy the previous week, the Notre Dame football team delivered a crushing performance against Florida State on Saturday, winning 52-3. This impressive streak of victories began even before the Navy game, including a win against Georgia Tech, where Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard took the lead. Head coach Marcus Freeman expressed his appreciation for the team’s outstanding efforts.

“Dominant” barely captures how well the Fighting Irish performed against the Seminoles, showcasing an unstoppable offense and a defense that allowed only a field goal in the first quarter. After the game, Freeman expressed just how “proud” he is of his team and their preparation throughout the season, according to ESPN.
“I’m proud of those guys,” Freeman said. “I’m proud of the way they prepared. When you watch film, you see you’re up against a talented team, but it could have been easy to underestimate them based on their record.
“But we have a mature group,” Freeman continued. “We have several seniors who are leading the team in the right direction, and I truly believe that Saturday’s performance reflects our preparation. They have the right mindset and are playing exceptionally well.”
Florida State’s Struggles Continue On the other hand, it’s been a rough season for the Florida State football team, with only one win thus far against the University of California on September 21. Following the defeat to the Fighting Irish, head coach Mike Norvell shared his disappointment.
“We’re all disappointed,” Norvell said. “This wasn’t the outcome we anticipated, and it doesn’t represent the vision we have for our program. The guys fought hard, but credit goes to our opponents for their performance. This season has been filled with results that we find frustrating, but we still have a decision to make about how we finish — and that means working hard to improve.”
Notre Dame’s defense clearly dominated the Seminoles.
The Notre Dame football team delivered an impressive performance, scoring 52 points, while their defense excelled, particularly the defensive line, which recorded eight sacks. Fighting Irish defensive back Jordan Clark noted how the strong play from the defensive line makes things easier for the secondary, as reported by Rivals.
“It was really the D-line,” Clark remarked. “We’d love to take credit, but when you have players like Rylie Mills rushing the passer the way he did tonight, it really simplifies our jobs.”
“I didn’t have to work too long or too hard tonight,” Clark added. “All the credit goes to those guys. They put in tremendous effort, and Coach [Al Washington] does an excellent job of keeping them prepared and focused. You could see that tonight, and we’ve seen it all season.”
Looking ahead, the Notre Dame football team (8-1) aims to solidify its standing as they head into Saturday on a seven-game winning streak.
