On3 RPM: NC State trending for a top target, Announcement Imminent Thursday at 5 pm local time

Louisville (Ky.) Male High School offensive lineman Isaac Sowells Jr. is set to announce his college commitment this Thursday at 5 p.m. local time. The finalists in his decision are South Carolina, Kentucky, and NC State.

According to sources familiar with the recruitment process, NC State appears to be in a strong position. My On3 RPM now reflects this sentiment.

Sowells is highly sought after as one of the premier center prospects in his class, making him a top priority for NC State head coach Dave Doeren and his staff.

What Sowells has said about NC State:

NC State checks many boxes for Sowells. “I’d say the coaching staff is a huge part,” Sowells recently mentioned when discussing what stands out about NC State. Offensive line coach Garett Tujague has been his primary recruiter.

“The stability they offer in the program, with minimal coaching changes, is truly what great programs are built on. They’ve done an excellent job recruiting talented players for their skill positions and have a great young quarterback in Cedrick Bailey. The city of Raleigh is appealing due to its rapid growth. Coach Tujague has excelled at developing the center position, having produced two different All-American centers.”

Wolfpack landing key prospects:

NC State currently has 14 commitments in the 2025 class, including four-star receiver Jerel Bolder, who they secured over Georgia, dynamic running back Kentrell Rinehart, and tight end Gus Ritchey, who they flipped from North Carolina.

If Sowells commits, he would become the second offensive lineman in the class, joining Michael Gibbs.

The On3 Industry ranks Sowells as the nation’s No. 42 interior offensive line prospect.
