Oregon Adds Another Mountain West Transfer to Growing Portal Class
It was a productive day on the recruiting trail for the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dana Altman, particularly when it came to tapping into Mountain West Conference talent.
San Diego State sophomore forward Pharaoh Compton became the latest addition to Oregon’s transfer class. The 6-foot-7 Chicago native averaged 7.5 points while shooting an impressive 72.1% from the field, along with 2.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. Though slightly undersized for a power forward, Compton makes up for it with length and athleticism. He does have areas to improve, including foul trouble, perimeter shooting, and free-throw consistency. Still, with significant roster turnover in Eugene, he could step into a major role right away.
Before even taking his scheduled visit to Oregon, Boise State wing Andrew Meadow also committed to the Ducks. The 6-foot-7 junior from California averaged 12.1 points while shooting 51% from the field and nearly 39% from three-point range last season. A versatile defender, Meadow can guard multiple positions and brings valuable experience after starting nearly every game over the past two seasons. His all-around skill set and veteran presence should make an immediate impact.
Both Compton and Meadow join San Francisco sophomore wing Tyrone Riley IV as part of Oregon’s incoming transfer group, giving Altman a strong foundation as he reshapes the roster.
Looking ahead, the Ducks are also set to host College of Charleston center Chol Machot for an official visit. The seven-footer from Australia, who earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in the Colonial Athletic Association, averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. He is also considering several other major programs, making his visit to Oregon an important opportunity for the Ducks.
Meanwhile, Oregon commit Tajh Ariza recently competed in the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, representing Team World. He finished with four points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. On the opposing side, top-ranked 2026 prospect Tyran Stokes impressed for Team USA with 15 points in a narrow victory.
Ariza will continue his offseason showcase at the Ballislife All-American Game later this month as Oregon continues building momentum both through recruiting and the transfer portal.
