RECRUIT 2025: The Pirates Added Another Talented Offensive Piece To Their 2025 Recruiting Class
Three-star TE Cayman Reynolds commits to ECU
ECU’s 2025 offensive class received a boost on Thursday with the addition of three-star tight end Cayman Reynolds, who hails from Sonoraville High School in Calhoun, Ga., situated north of Atlanta.
Reynolds, standing at 6 feet 3.5 inches and weighing 225 pounds, was part of the group of official visitors at ECU last week and has since made known his commitment to the program. Despite interest from several other universities, including Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, and others, he chose ECU. According to 247Sports, Reynolds is regarded as a three-star (85 overall) recruit with a positional ranking of 82nd overall and is also ranked as the 146th-best player in Georgia.

Earlier this month, Reynolds unveiled his top five choices, which included Memphis, East Carolina, Michigan State, Colorado State, and Georgia Tech. Following his official visit last week, he ultimately opted for the Pirates.
“East Carolina is the ideal place for me,” Reynolds stated. “I’m embraced by a caring community and a dedicated coaching team. It’s home to me because it feels like family.”
In his third year at Sonoraville, Reynolds completed 21 receptions for 296 yards and two touchdowns. The Phoenix achieved a 3-7 overall record last season, participating in AAAA Region 7. Reynolds received first-team all-region and all-state honors for the recent season. Additionally, his Twitter bio indicates that he holds a first-degree black belt in karate and has a 36-inch vertical leap.
Reynolds is the second genuine tight end to join ECU’s 2025 class, alongside Kaleb Morrow from Apex High School, who committed in mid-June. Although three-star athlete Stephen Collier also possesses tight end skills, he is anticipated to be used as a more flexible hybrid receiver.
As of now, ECU has 19 public commitments for the 2025 class, and the group is rated 70th overall by 247Sports. Seven of the committed prospects, including Reynolds, hail from Georgia.
Reynolds was recruited by tight ends coach Hunter MacKay, with assistance from offensive coordinator John David Baker.
