Report: Severe Rumors Looms As Former Utah QB Sensation To Resign With Baltimore Ravens

BALTIMORE – Reports indicate that former Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley has secured a new opportunity for the 2024 NFL season. After being released by the Cleveland Browns during the roster cutdown, Huntley is set to return to a familiar environment by re-signing with the Baltimore Ravens.

Huntley spent the first four years of his professional career with the Ravens. Primarily serving as a backup to NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, the former Ute appeared in 20 games during that time. While with Baltimore, he completed 221 of 342 passes for 1,957 yards and eight touchdowns.

This decision is beneficial for both Huntley and the Ravens for several reasons. He’s already well-liked by fans and teammates, and he fits seamlessly into the team’s offensive system.

The Ravens have centered their offense around Jackson since he established himself as a premier quarterback in 2019. He poses a significant threat both as a runner and a passer—arguably more so with his legs.

Huntley’s playing style closely resembles Jackson’s. Both quarterbacks excel at throwing on the run and gaining extra yards when facing tight pass coverage, making them true dual threats.

When Huntley was released by the Browns, it was clear he would be picked up; the question was only where.

Huntley and the Ravens will begin their 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, September 5.

Before entering the NFL, Huntley was a standout at the University of Utah, where he played from 2016 to 2019. During his collegiate career, the Dania, Florida native passed for 7,351 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions with a 67% completion rate.

Huntley signed with the Ravens after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. He served primarily as Lamar Jackson’s backup but also started games in place of the two-time NFL MVP.

In 2022, Huntley played a key role in helping the Ravens reach the playoffs, throwing for 658 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions during the regular season while also rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown.

In his first four seasons in the league, Huntley recorded 1,957 passing yards, eight touchdown passes, and seven interceptions, achieving a completion rate of 64.6%. He also rushed for 509 yards and scored three touchdowns.
